 Irfanview - Using irfanview to scan document Irfanview allow you to connect to the scanner directly and scan the picture directly into the editor for cropping and simple editing.  It is pretty amazing that a small editor comes with some much features. I do have to agree that it would be even better if I can have a few layers to play with, but there are always work around to get the things working. To scan a image directly into irfranview, you can use the following steps. You will need to get your scanner installed, so irfanview can know how to source for the image. . File --> Acquire. Irfanview Graphic Viewer - A great multi-tool for desktop Irfanview have always been a must-have tool for my desktop.  I have been using it since year 2001 when it was running version 3.36.  I do believe that it was a freeware at that moment, nevertheless I paid for a license as it is working very well for me, saving me lots of productivity hours.
